Greetings and welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #183. Thanks so much for stopping in to spend time with us at Hope for Survival. Welcome to October. Month 10 of 12 and moving quickly towards 2023. My goodness. Does anyone else think the year has flown by to this point? Here in East TN, it seems we went from winter to summer and now summer through autumn to winter. Our nighttime temperatures are teetering around 40 degrees in the lower altitude areas. I'm sure the mountainous areas are probably already registering in the high 30s most likely. I had to travel down to Alabama on a quick down and back trip and I was surprised how much more color the leaves already changed between Scottsboro, AL to Huntsville, AL compared to the Eastern TN region. Both regions endured a relatively dry spring and summer. Regardless, its' coming and winter will arrive before we know it. Get ready.
Patriot's, please keep our brother Festus and his family in your thoughts and prayers while they deal with the passing of Festus' mother this week. The Ol codger is tough, but his plate has been full the past few months. I know he would appreciate your consideration very much.
It was a great week because I got to see several HFS Patriots locally and in Alabama. Thanks for your time and conversations. We had a monthly neighborhood security team meeting as well. Great topics and discussions on subjects of importance such as security, communications, medical, and taking part in our town chamber of commerce meetings, school board meetings, and learning our candidates before the upcoming local elections. We have no room to complain if we don't know our candidates early and what they represent if elected. Get involved now.
I want to give a big shout out to all the HFS Patriots who are preparing daily and building a better self-sustainable lifestyle regardless of what may happen ahead. Folks are doing great things from state to state, and I applaud their time and efforts. From central VA to North and Central Georgia, Central and Western NC to Central and Northern Alabama, from Eastern TN to Central Kentucky. South Carolina, Georgia, Central and Western Tennessee, Maryland, and more. Procuring animals, ram pumps, marksmanship ranges, ham radio and all that goes with it, food canning, storage, and amazing recipes, medicinal learning and steps in how to do task as needed. I'm proud of each and every one of you for your focus and dedication to build your own self-reliant insurance policy. Knowing where many started at and where they are today deserves a big applause and congratulations. Keep it up.

HFS 3rd Annual Autumn Rally
This year's event will be conducted indoors with two class areas for multiple classes during the day. Some of the classes slated at this point will be suturing, stapling, and IVs, fermenting vegetables, digital ham radio and building antennas, resourcing, satellite phones, making fire cider, and the new food calculator (Excel product). All instructors are HFS members, and it is great to see them bring some of their skills to share with other members. More classes may added. I will keep you updated here. We will have a guest speaker in the late afternoon and author, John Dyslin - Nehemiah Strong, will speak to the group.

Madison County, AL - CERT Training Opportunity
If we have enough people to sign up, we are looking at setting up a training class for the fall.
The course is twice a week for a total of 8 classes from 6:00 – 8:30.
This training class schedule is as follows:

You will receive additional details if you are able to attend.
You must attend all classes to graduate and receive your CERT certification.
CERT is an important way to give back to your community. By completing this course, you will have skills and knowledge that could be lifesaving in the event of an emergency.
After receiving your certification, you may also want to use your training to help the community by joining Madison County CERT as an active member.

Thoughts for the week -
- The World We Weave
The world continues showing further signs of chaos and breakdown with each passing day. OPEC voted to make major cuts in current oil production as we move towards winter and the coldest period of the year for many. With this news and the ongoing dilemma between Russia and Europe, to include Nord stream pipeline unavailability, it seems little answers are surfacing to how the Europeans will heat their homes this winter. Though our mainstream media will never show it, protest are surfacing around Europe. While part of the globe is dealing with possible heating fuel shortages, Bangladesh is trying to figure out why the nation experienced roughly a 80% grid failure in the afternoon. It is believed a coronal mass ejection (CME) caused the event however no media is stating this to be the case. Florida residents are trying to assess damage from Hurricane Ian and how to move forward. The degree of damage from this Cat 4 hurricane is off the charts. On the other side of the globe residents of Japan received short notice government alerts to take cover immediately as North Korea fired one or more missiles over the nation. This was shortly after the U.S. V.P. visited the DMZ between north and south Korea. While the world potentially goes up in flames, we heard testimony before the US Congress from a licensed medical doctor telling Congress how males can have babies. Yikes. For me personally, it a was a major step in my life going from a bike with training wheels to standing on my own with two wheels and no trainers. Huge step. But, if you truly think you are going to convince me it is possible for a male to get pregnant and go through child birthing, it is not going to happen in this country boys brain housing group.
Lots of voices are speaking out on what appears to be a serious nuclear threat growing between the US and Russia at this time. There's lots of voices discussing different Russian mobilization of weapons being transported under the surface of the world's waters. If you are listening and monitoring, I would advise caution. Please don't panic and go spend your lifetime of savings on lottery tickets. Though a highly sensitive topic for the world, please proceed with extreme caution. Further rumors are that NATO and the European Union will deliver an ultimatum to President Putin by week's end to withdraw from Ukraine, give back recently adopted provinces, or be physically removed. Putin has vowed he will die on his own sword before giving in to the western elites. My understanding is the Russian Constitution allows the elected President to defend all land mass and citizens from acts of aggression to Russian territories and attack with equal might to any previous attack against said land or populace. This would include Ukraine I do believe. The so called "doomsday" submarine was recently located in the Barents Sea which gives Russia both offensive and defensive protection. The doomsday submarine carries 6 Poseidon torpedoes.
All the chatter matters, however the single event that really "wowed" me this week was hearing the United States Government has approved and is allowing the Chinese CCP to locate a CCP police station in the state of New York. It was explained by the US Government as giving the Chinese government the ability to pay closer attention and spy on Chinese citizens in the US of A.

Do you understand the reality of what this says and means? Our government, the nation of equal rights and protecting the unborn, and crimes against humanity, (cough), is allowing one of the worlds biggest abusers of civil rights and protection of life to bring foreign law to our nation and monitor citizens on our soil. If these same citizens commit a crime, they would be charged and tried in a US Court system. Or are we going to see an equal system for the Chinese people like what has been established in Flint, Michigan for Muslims and Sharia court systems? Is Muslim Sharia law a problem in Michigan, and should it be outlawed? (Michigan Politics Minute video) - mlive.com
Sister and brother Patriots, the gates are wide open, and the water will only get deeper. Some are asleep and others are still blaming the bad news on their television remote. Some are even waiting for their church to tell them what to do and how to handle things. As Pastor Paul Begley starts is podcast by saying "are you serious." The New York courts who was the first to approve same sex marriage, has now approved polygamy. This is another step towards opening the door for all other immoral acts against Biblical scripture and against our way of life in America. Soon you will have people marrying their pets and sex acts with animals. If denied, these cases will have solid grounds for winning by using the arguments of the previously won cases. - Court that first legalized same-sex marriage now legalizing polygamy, too | Washington Examiner At the same time of these events in America, President Putin is banning and arresting citizens for acts in the same areas being legalized in America. Think about that one.
- Cleaning and purifying water -
Many questions come to me through email and visits asking for demonstrations on how to clean water. Even though HFS has provided numerous documents on how to do it, sometimes it is much easier to see the demonstration vs reading it. Personally, I learn better through demonstrations. Here is a video on how to sanitize water to make it potable.
Many preparers and preppers live by the Sawyer water systems and that is great. I like Sawyer also. But for quick and dependable water availability I go with the Grayl first. Just my personal choice. Both are great. The Grayl is more costly.
Staying with my common practice of one is none, two is one, and three is better, I personally keep multiple methods to sanitize water near me. I also possess a Grayl geo-press water cleansing system with my ready bag in my vehicle. This system is more expensive, but it is fast, simple, and easy to use. Check it out here.

What if you need a water cleansing system for your home and you want to clean your water? Have you considered building your own system vs the cost of buying a ready to use system?
I can think of many scenarios where a person could be placed in an emergency situation that leaves the person in need of clean water, especially when mobile away from home. One could be stranded on the side of the road. Or a family could be out hiking, and someone gets injured and is down until help can manage the terrain to provide medical assistance. What if a person is hiking and gets lost for days and runs out of packed water? What if a situation prevents a person from boiling water because of darkness or a looming threat, yet water is essential to the situation? What if your well is dependent on electricity to run a well pump and you now must collect rain or creek water to survive? It is better to be prepared with a dependable working system than take chances.
Crazy talk - Last week I shared my thoughts under the "lets Imagine" scenario, and it was really out there with a conversation on Bio-digital Divergence and Central Bank Digital Currency and the coming switch from a paper currency to digital. Let's get even crazier this week and add to our imaginary ability to think outside the box.
Imagine living in a world where your every move is monitored and tracked. What if you needed permission to leave your home to check out a local movie or maybe go get a haircut or visit your favorite beauty shop. Imagine a sky full of miniature drones flying around tracking and reporting your every move. What if the drones could track you to within one inch of your movement? Imagine your shoes, clothing, and resources being built with material trackable by the drone. One should ask, what happens when try to escape the constant drone monitoring? Maybe one should first ask, how would even escape such a crazy thought and where would one go that is not monitored? What would the punishment be when one is caught out of their approved areas? Granted, all of this new way of life, as crazy as it sounds, would be dependent on the person having accepted the chip under hand skin in order for identity of the individual and permissions granted under the new national and global systems. This stuff makes my head hurt. I hate thinking and sharing crazy thoughts.
How crazy are these thoughts? Just think, the Department of Defense has intense and highly technical bio metrics programs such as skin, fingerprint, retinal, heartbeat, hair, and so forth. It's all old school today. So, the technology is available. The question is the platform to conduct the deployment to monitor and provide real time information to and from the individual to a central monitoring station. Let's call the central monitoring state the global brain.
Drones. Millions of drones. It would take very small drones to do such a task, right? What if a location in Florida already builds these drones? How on earth would they be powered to stay in the air 24 x 7? What if the mini drones had built in solar panel devices to self-charge and keep the drones powered continuously. We know past military technology for drone's have been released to the public sector, like many other technologies. Several movies used mini drones for spy missions and to deliver weapons or a sleep gas to take down the threat. Oh, that is Hollywood stuff. True. Remember previous conversations discussing how Hollywood movies are often filmed to gauge the populace response to the topic posed? If I plant, it in your mind to think about then any shock factor will be less because you are already familiar with the concept. For the average person to grasp what I am saying they must understand and practice getting "outside the box" and looking for things that are out of the normal practices for the task at hand. Remember, you want to be different. You want to see, hear, recognize, and know things before the other 95% of the populace around you. This is what separates the prepared from the unprepared. This means mentally, physically, and psychologically. You may see it and identify it, but if you don't understand it and process it to the degree of running a quick risk assessment on it and identify how it could be a threat to you and how you will mitigate the threat, you aren't getting it.
The more you know about a threat and understand how much of a threat it is, the better chance you have of putting together the best mitigation plan to offset it or change your plan all together. Don't be the biggest threat you will face.

From Bob Rogers - Survivopedia - Why planning to bug out isn't enough - Survivopedia - Why planning to bug out isn't enough - Survivopedia - For me personally, I find discussions and hearing different logics on this topic appealing. My entire philosophy on bugging out has changed over the past ten years. It could have changed for many reasons. Age, changing of threats, understanding difficulties in relocating and more. Unless one is in the urban environment or suburbia near a large city, I would lean towards bugging in and staying place. Part of my reasoning also stems from what I have witnessed the past ten years in individual commitment to finding other like-minded individuals, bonding, training, and building plans. Anyone who honestly believes they can pack up and go to an undeveloped location and meet people quickly and build a plan to support one another while a crisis is developing or taking place is likely very unprepared and lacks the proper mindset. Just my thoughts.
2. From Marie Hawthorne - The Organic Prepper - As Famine Looms, Should You Hide Your Stored Food? (theorganicprepper.com) - Interesting perspective from the author. Personally, we went a different route for our food storage for multiple reasons. I won't go into it in this platform for obvious reasons, but I would suggest one consider developing a food security plan as part of their food plan. Much of one's decision should be based around their location, threat, ability to protect resources, and are you part of a community and five-mile radius concept.
3. From Tom Marlowe - The Survivalist Blog - How Preppers Can Achieve Financial Freedom | The Survivalist Blog - Financia Freedom is one of the best and healthiest steps you can give to yourself and family. Hard? Sure. Possible? Sure. Aside from food and water being a must, getting yourself out of debt will change your life. I can't speak for others but once you achieve this step you then see the world from a different perspective. It is much easier buying and building your "must have" list when using credit. Once you decide to pay cash for everything your "must have" list will decrease in need.
4. Our HFS Patriot sister and brother in North GA get some the most beautiful colored eggs I've ever witnessed. A dozen eggs from their collection looks like Easter eggs. Pretty cool stuff.
5. From Jacqueline - Deep Roots at Home - Cayenne Pepper May Save a Life: No Home Should Be Without It (deeprootsathome.com) - Good article. I once worked with an elderly gentleman who carried a cayenne pepper in his pocket daily. He would take a bite randomly through the day. He told me he never got sick, had the flu, or got seasonal colds. He was about 78 years old at the time.

Even back in my kinder years when I would take a hammer and beat square pegs into round holes, I knew then it was wrong. Hearing that men can get pregnant is just wrong. I have also read under the new Bio-digital Convergence platform part of the upcoming plan is to propose a new updated and current Constitution for the digital world. Hmmm
4. From Tyler Arnold - Just the News - Hundreds of Virginians have had firearms confiscated through red-flag laws | Just The News - This is with a Conservative Governor? I have been asking the HFS Zoom Patriots if there is a difference between liberals and conservatives? I think not, personally.

But, I also realize who the is saying this information as well and positions held and still holds. War is a money-making proposal and propaganda is a way of pushing escalation and engagement. Always keep this in mind.

We pray for our Patriot brother in Northern Alabama in his ongoing health ordeal. May you all be lifted in prayer and spirit in the days ahead. Please remember our Patriot family in central Alabama and a quick recovery for our brother who fell recently and is recovering from neck and back injuries from the fall. Get well soon. As Patriots we must stay strong and never give up. Our home, community, and nation need us now more than ever. Stay focused on your local community and things that will impact you around the nation. Don't allow the events around you to create fear in your life. Build your own self-reliance and focus on faith and hope.
