Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #256

Greetings and welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #256. March is here and if your area is like mine, I'm concerned about early blooms and buds popping out before the next freeze hits and it will do so again. I don't know about you, but the days are moving by way to fast.

Hey, grab some of your favorite joy food and a good beverage. Relax and I hope you find something worth your time in this week's PENL edition. For me, it's some good Ol sausage gravy over hot dogs with a steaming cup of coffee. Sometimes we just have to grab some happy food and smile. For those having yogurt and fruit, I will pretend my healthy meal is just that. Know what I'm saying?

Speaking of good food and healthy eating, those who grow, attempt to grow, want to grow, pretend to grow, dream about gardening, and those who run to the market and buy frozen vegetables and then bring them home to put in a pretend salad or serve a meal. (smile) It all counts, right? One of our Patriot brothers in Western, N.C. put together a awesome calendar for planning your planting season in your garden. This is an excellent tool to support you in your planning.

It is March and that means the HFS Annual Donation drive has started through the end of March. You can read more on the webpage regarding the drive and what is about. We hope you will consider a donation to help offset operational cost through the year of 2024. All donations go strictly to funding the cost to keep things moving along uninterrupted. Without your support during the March donation drive HFS wouldn't be possible. Thanks for your consideration and support. Here is the link to the HFS Website main page. You should see the yellow donate tab in clear view. It is located just under the Contact Hope for Survival tab. Blog | Survival (hopeforsurvival.com) For additional information here is the HFS individual post on the topic.

We must make this brief public announcement to protect the innocent.

Ding, Ding, Ding....Attention HFS readers..... Opinions shared in this newsletter are just that, opinions, and nothing more. Read at your own risk. The owner and author of this site is not responsible for hurt feelings or thin-skinned readers. I do my best to show restraint and respect to the best extent possible. I take as many precautions as possible and try to remain as nonpolitical as possible, however, there are times when I just can't help but point certain things out. Occasionally I use words only Patriots recognize and understand. It's not personal against any non-Patriot. It's just the truth. Sometimes we must pull up our spenders and suck it up. Just saying. Stay the course, read what you want, and avoid the rest. Avoid fear porn as much as possible and the day will be okay. When all else fails… Keep the faith and always have Hope.

Let’s move along and get to some thoughts...

Thoughts for the week - There is HOPE today, and each day forward

Do you realize we are living through challenges and unknowns like never before. Yes, many are not recognizing it and will not realize it until they are alone and wondering what happened. As sad as this sounds, I don't believe the unprepared can say "no one told them so." Agree?

Here at HFS we have recommended that a person first get their physical. psychological, and spiritual wellbeing in order. What good are we to anyone else if we are questionable to ourselves? Of course this is a personal choice, just like preparing resources for sustainability and self-reliance. Personally, I come here weekly and share thoughts and things going on in the world and our nation. Some of it is heavy and heart aching. I have shared to a few folks and possibly here, since the start of Orangeman's first campaign effort in 2015, all his battles once elected, Covid-19, Jan 6, a failed second election attempt, and through today, I do not stress over the world and its trials. Just like I am reminding others here, I also had to remind myself years ago, if I truly believe and have faith, I can't follow the evil into the pits when God is offering me a bridge across the evil. It is up to each of us.

I often get emails, texts, phone calls, and private messages via the HFS Signal Group app, sharing thoughts, problems, concerns, and progress. I try to answer as many as possible when time permits. Over the years a frequent comment I hear is preparers who are trying to build communities and encounter Christians who make statements such as "I'm not preparing because God will provide for me and my family." Or, "I will be lifted and part of the pre-rapture before all the bad stuff happens so I'm not preparing." I received a message this week from a Patriot sister in Western N.C. who is currently dealing with this issue while trying to build a self-reliant community.

Let me say this, how and what you believe is on you. If you are a person without faith and truly want to learn more simply message me and we can go forth. This is a personal understanding and choice one makes on this journey called life. But I will share this and ask the question, if a person is of the belief that God is going to rapture them out of this earthly mess, may I ask why this belief didn't apply to the thousands of Christians in Africa, the Middle East, or China, who suffered atrocities and persecution? I'm not questioning one's faith. I'm simply asking the question, why anyone would feel they deserve less suffering and pain than what Jesus suffered? Furthermore, if one truly believes and offers 100% faith in what they believe according to scripture, why would their desire be according to their own plan and possibly not according to God's plan for them.

I also fear people of faith make the statement "God will provide our needs so I'm not preparing for the future." I challenge those with this belief. Stop paying your rent or house payment and see how it works out for you. Stop going to the grocery store and see how often your cupboards are stocked. Stop putting gas in your car and see how it works out for ya. Any many cases, these are the same people who can spend a full hour telling you all the things going on in the world that troubles them yet.... Where is their faith when it comes to earthly matters? I'm not casting stones to one's belief. I'm simply pointing out the fact one's faith should not be selective under set conditions that fits the needs of the person. Trust is trust and faith is faith.

I often mention finding a place to find peace. A place to have one on one time in prayer and building a personal relationship with the Lord. The more we do it, the more it means, and our effort grows to ensure we have this place and time. I personally enjoy and find comfort looking at God's creations. I find these to be reminders to me just how real and promising God's word is to those who take the time to read, pray, trust, and have faith. Below is a picture taken in our area over the lake just after a strong storm forced its way through the area dropping a lot of rain, high winds, and dropping the temperature roughly 20 degrees in 30 minutes. Then, as the sun started to drop for the day, this beautiful reminder appeared.

In life we have so many people around us, family and friends, and often something happens, and we are let down or we get hurt by a loved one. It is so easy to get mad and feel anger. We are human. But I am reminded of God's promises to us through scripture. We have no promise of tomorrow and we have no promise that tomorrow is our day to depart this life on earth. It is according to His plan and timetable, not ours.

We often forget and need reminders of His promises. I located this consolidated listing which I felt best hit on 10 of God's promises to His children: 10 Promises of God With Bible Verses, For When You're Disappointed - Nikki Evanson:

1. God Will Guide Your Steps

If you put your trust in God and seek him for guidance, he promises to direct you.

“For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.” (Psalm 48:14, NIV)

God will not let you down. When you feel disappointed by others, know God will guide you in what to do.

2. God Will Rescue You

God is here for you—as His child He will rescue you.

“The Lord helps them and takes them out of trouble. He takes them away from the sinful, and saves them, because they go to Him for a safe place.” (Psalm 37:40, NLV)

When someone is wanting to harm you, or you are in trouble, seek Him and He promises to be there for you to rescue you.

3. God Is With You

God promises to be with you. He is with you in the good, the pain, and the heartbreaking tumultuous times when your circumstances make you feel like nothing will ever change. He has a plan and has gone before you to make a way.

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8, NIV)

Trust that He is with you.

4. God Hears You

God hears your prayers and values them because He loves you. He hears it all—your deep cries and the longings of your heart. Because he has the best for you, He will give you what is according to His will.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” (1 John 5:14-15, NIV)

Know you are always heard by Him, and your tears are not unseen. Keep praying and know His will for you is best.

5. God Will Carry Your Concerns

God doesn’t want you weighed down by anything: worry, fear, stress, hurt from others, etc. He promises that, as His child, if you give it all to Him, He will take care of you. You will stand strong and can have peace.

“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” (Psalm 55:22, NIV)

Give it all to Him.

6. God Is Your Strength

God wants you to rely on his strength and not your own.

He promises to be our strength when we surrender to him, humbled, knowing we need Him.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:26, NIV)

Be dependent on Him. When you feel disappointment and it’s hard to keep going, acknowledge your weaknesses. God is your strength.

7. God Will Always Provide

When you feel you are in need, know He is the great provider. He promises to do that when you lean on him, since you have been faithful to Him.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19, NIV)

He will meet every need in the disappointment: comfort, refuge, peace, etc. Trust He will provide, even when things seem impossible.

8. God Has Given You Authority

When you feel beaten down by the way people have disappointed you, remember that Jesus has given you all authority over the lies you’re believing in your mind. Those are the work of the enemy.

“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.” (Luke 10:19, NLT)

This promise allows you to know that the victory is always yours. The enemy has no power over you unless you give it to him.

9. God Has Given You Peace

In hard times, when things feel so rattled, He has given you the gift of peace to hold on to.

“‘Though the mountains be shaken, and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54:10, NIV)

Remember this, and rest in him for peace, because this is promised to you. His peace is always available when you trust him and give it all to him.

10. God Has Given You the Ability to Persevere

When you feel like you want to give up—when loving others feels hard because people have disappointed you—remind yourself that God promises you will reap if you keep persevering.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”  (Galatians 6:9, NIV)

Take it one day at a time, reminding yourself of his promise as you do your part. You can keep doing good and doing the things He is calling you to.

Now, with this said, and equally as important for this discussion, God also expects accountability and the leaders of each household to provide for the family and home.

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. - 1 Timothy 5:8

Sometimes we all need a pinch to remind us of our accountability, huh?

Food Preparedness -

Over the past few weeks, the topic of food preparedness has surfaced more than normal. We have a lot of new preparers just getting started putting back resources. I lay out much of this discussion in my first book under food preparedness. Types of food, levels to prepare towards, and more. Having some level or type of food without much thought is better than no food. However, one must understand their body and the diet requirements of what they need and those who are included in the preparedness effort. How much do you need? What special requirements must be included. What ingredients are in the specific food supplies. Do you need less sodium in your diet? How long are you planning for? Are you preparing for young children? What are the different types of food one should consider, such as dehydrated long term, self packed dry foods and how to prepare the buckets, home canned goods such as fruit, vegetables, and meets, store bought canned goods, and more. Why should you consider all the above to mix and build food plans with different options to ensure a healthy diet? These are just a few things to consider.

Here is a good discussion from Paterra over at Appalachia's Homestead on #10 cans and longevity of different types. This falls into your food planning and a healthy menu per meal.

When it comes to packing food buckets, I consider Mr. Bill at Carolina Readiness Supply in Waynesville, NC to be the best with knowledge and instruction. Here is a recent video Mr. Bill provided on packing dry goods in food grade buckets for long term storage and the keeping the health of the food safe.

If you have questions or need preparedness resources, give Ms. Jan and Mr. Bill a call at Carolina Readiness Supply located in Waynesville, NC. Or, if you are near CRS stop by and visit with them. You won't find two kinder and knowledgeable friends and preparers. Oh, you will have friends for life. CRS is a family-owned business, and we should all be trying to shop at these types of family-owned stores. Tell them you learned about them here at the Hope for Survival site.

Stay safe.

Please pray for our leadership to find answers and guidance to the problems facing our great nation. May your faith remain strong and answers to the unknown provided. Our HFS family has many prayers needs for health and moral. We love you all and continue praying for each of you.

May we pray for all the blessings and things in life to be thankful about and continued hope for revival around the world. We must continually pray for the unsaved, our family and friends who live each day without the protection for eternal life and salvation.

As Patriots we must stay strong and never give up. Our home, community, and nation need us now more than ever. Stay focused on your local community and things that will impact you around the nation. Don't allow the events around you to create fear in your life. Build your own self-reliance and focus on faith and hope. Remember we are a blessed nation, and we must continue to be great people today and make a better tomorrow. Keep charging.

It is sad and frightening that there are churches that do not use the Bible as the basis for their teachings. The Bible is the real and true inspired word of God. As Christians we must spread His word and live out His teachings. We cannot sit back and allow unGodly behaviors to continue. Everyone WILL be held accountable some day and I believe it is our job to ensure that everyone hears and understands God’s word. Am I perfect? No. Do I do all I can to spread His word? Probably not. Am I at least trying to make a difference? Yes, I feel that I am and I’m working to do better.

ECG - You are correct. Many churches today are buffet style congregations focused more on building walls than saving souls. Funny how the scripture hasn't changed for many years however church certainly has. We all have a tasking that is clear. Sounds simple huh? Keep the faith and focus on what is most important. Blessings.
