Greetings and welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #293. Thanks for stopping by for this week's edition. Some of us may be living in areas where it seemed like Halloween, and some trick-or-treat going on with the mid 70-degree temperatures to only revert back to freezing ones again. Our fruit trees flowered beautifully and now we face nightly temperatures in the low 30s again here in East Tennessee. I know many of you shared how you have started your seeds at this point which is great. I'm excited to hear how a few of you are also building or upgrading greenhouses for year-round growing. With the unpredictable weather patterns this is a wise path to follow.
We are now halfway through the HFS Annual March Madness Donation Drive and donations lag way behind with roughly 40 % of the needed funds to operate HFS for 2025. Keep these simple rules available in your mind and hopefully they will help you stay safe and out of trouble.

I take as many precautions as possible and try to remain as nonpolitical as possible, however, there are times when I just can't help but point certain things out. Occasionally I use words only Patriots recognize and understand. It's not personal against any non-Patriot. It's just the truth. Sometimes we must pull up our spenders and suck it up. Just saying. Stay the course, read what you want, and avoid the rest. Avoid fear porn as much as possible and the day will be okay. When all else fails… Keep the faith and always have Hope.
Thoughts for the week - The importance of community
Yes, I know I keep beating this drum and it's because of its importance. What else can I say. I started sharing the importance of community over five years ago, teaching classes on the topic, and trying to help others begin the process of planting the preparedness seeds and building a community from it. It can be your neighborhood, small town, church, in urban, suburban, or rural locations. HFS may be one of the first preparedness groups to stress the need and focus on building this critical need.
In the world we live today, it's fairly simple to see why a community is needed. In America we face numerous issues and problems today. Many of these issues dove tail down to our communities and impact our people and neighbors. What should those who are prepared care? Because during certain types of problems, many will survive if they are surrounded by prepared family, friends, neighbors, and communities. Aside from it being the Christian thing to do, a functioning community needs to have all surrounding homes and families working together to achieve needed and required task that must be completed daily. Food, water, security, communications, are the critical needs, with other needs coming in behind the must have processes.
We can talk about Washington, D.C., and what our government is or isn't doing, but what about where you live? I have been laying low since the November election and watching how conservatives and preparers would react to the results and a second term for President Trump. Yes, was good news in many ways, however many it seems are reacting with the belief that everything is good to go now. It is evident through several sources where viewership, post reads, and preparedness resources not being sold.
The good news is President Trump returned to Washington, D.C. with his own selections for cabinet positions vs with his previous term where he followed Washington insider advice by naming Washingtonians. It was names already known and recognized as having served in previous administrations. Do you realize Washington, D.C. is roughly 92% Democrat? How could this go wrong? Well, history shows why. This time President Trump brought in his own cavalry to tackle the nation's problems.
Why do so many conservative preparers let their guard down and trust everything is now fixed? Nothing happens overnight, right? Why should we believe the second term will be any different than the first, even with his own selected administration? Anyone who thinks the left is not going to put up a fight at every level is a fool. We are a divided nation at so many levels and a single man, the President, will never fix our problems. Especially in four years. Policies are just that. Policies will not fix morals, integrity, faith, ethics, and a citizen's willingness to work hard for a better family, community and nation. So many ground level factors contribute to individual desire and fixing these factors will not come from the high-level position in the oval office. Honestly, these are all problems that start at the ground level of, family, home, church, school and education, and community. If you don't believe me, just look at the quality of politicians at our federal level. Where did they start? Ground level in our local communities, local and state governments. How did they develop the failed ideology we see?
What we are witnessing further displays the difference between preparing and prepping. President Trump is elected, and many believe "the big one" will not happen with him in power. He will single handedly stop China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, most of the Middle East, and the Democrats? One man, all by himself.
In the meantime, are you watching the number of natural disasters occurring and the frequency between them? It seems we are facing at least one per month lately. Think about this, since President Trump was elected, we face the continuance of Hurricane Helene the California fire recovery, droughts and fires in Texas and other states, flooding in Kentucky and West Virginia, and now tornado damage recovery in the southeastern US.
We are on the verge of multiple theater wars that could trigger at any moment. The middle East, Europe with Ukraine-Russia, and the Pacific region with North Korea and China. While our military budget at the Department of Defense is enormous, our military is not ready or capable of fighting a two to three front war. This is not a one-year fix. This will take several years and more money. The world views our military as pansies because of years of DEI and Wokeism, this won't change overnight. Truth be known, one must ask, how many of our ladies and men in uniform today will simply refuse to fight for our nation.
There remains a global and national level shortage of available food resources. A magic wand and voice of a powerful President will not magically make food appear. Food prices continue to rise, and, in many homes, it is not affordable to put a quality meal on the table for families. Before Christmas I paid roughly $20 for a box of five dozen eggs. I priced the same box of eggs (5 dozen) at the start of March and the price was $50.99. When the CEO of Dollar General speaks out on the fact families shopping at Dollar General are struggling to afford available food, it should quickly get our attention. We have a problem.
With all of this said, anyone who prepared and has now stopped, they are making a big mistake. The only thing that has changed since the summer of 2024 is a new name now occupies the White House.

Please continue praying for the survivors of the Hurricane Helene disaster, the California wildfires, and the recent floods in Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia. They have many needs and a long haul ahead to recovery.
As Patriots we must stay strong and never give up. Our home, community, and nation need us now more than ever. Stay focused on your local community and things that will impact you around the nation. Don't allow the events around you to create fear in your life. Build your own self-reliance and focus on faith and hope. Remember we are a blessed nation, and we must continue to be great people today and make a better tomorrow. Keep charging.
